Selby has a rich history dating back to Roman times. There is an 11th-century abbey dominating the town centre, which is the town’s most famous landmark.

The town itself is attractive, with a mix of historic buildings and modern amenities. The high street is lined with independent shops and a range of cafes, restaurants and pubs. Selby’s transport links are good, with easy access to the A19, A63 and major motorway links. London, York, Leeds, and Hull can all be reached by train from the town’s train station.
